Any chance there’s a Wal-Mart near you? They carry a very similar product under the name Air Hogs. About $ 30 U.S. Another brand that uses a slightly different controller is Pocket. But there are several “brands” that all use the same bird, just a different controller. Do a Google search for “micro heli” and see which companies will ship to you. May not be the PIcco Z, but will work the same. And, if you get one, go and put the small weight on the nose….makes it more fun when you have more control over it.

I just got one of these exact models after seeing a video of it on Youtube. Its known as the ’735 set’. Before this I had owned 3 Havoc Helis and an Air Hogs Reflex so I am very familiar with these micro helicopters. This one adds a third channel which means it will theoretically hover and can fly backwards, forwards and turn left or right. I was pleasantly surprised at how well and how stable it flies – even backwards! I would have given it a perfect score if only the steering was more predictable, although it seems that with practice I will be able to control it better (have owned it only 2 days).
This heli is very durable! I’ve crashed it several times on a hard tile floor and have hit a few walls with it. Many hard, bouncy landings on the skids too. It hasn’t suffered any damage except some scuff marks on the main rotors. This thing takes a beating and keeps on flying.
The transmitter is also a nice design and the trim wheel is in the perfect location. All of the transmitter’s control axis’s are proportional (not ‘bang-bang’) although the steering left/right axis seems a little sluggish. All in all it is well worth the price! In fact this seems like it would be just as much fun as the expensive $200 micro helicopter models from Precision Helicopters (the CX and V2) which I had looked into in the past.

I purchased this heli after looking at many others. The price was great, and the product is first rate. It takes a bit of practice, but well worth it. I have crashed it in training and it still keeps going. Charge time is better than I expected as well. The added control makes all the difference.
Warning, do not buy the rotor blades that Amazon suggest as a package, they do not fit this Heli. I called Micro Systems and they were very helpful, called me back and took care of the backup new rotors and my questions.

My 34 year old husband has wanted a micro helicopter for quite some time now. Most of the ones I have seen with the features he wants were in the $100 range. I decided to break down and get him one for Christmas because he has been a good husband this year. I did not know what I was getting myself into! I picked this one based on reviews I had read on all sorts of micro helis. You can’t choose the color but it didn’t really matter. When he opened it up he was as bad as the kids. Could not wait to charge it and start playing. He has hit the celing, floor, sofa, ME, and it keeps going. It is a tough little thing. The controls are very sensitive so it does take some getting used to. The only down side is it doesn’t hold a charge long but most of them don’t. It does charge quickly so that helps.

At this point, I can’t speak to the performance of this helicopter (although I have read many good reviews on this model here and elsewhere), I can say some good things about the company supplying it (Microfiber-Products-Online.com, Inc). I was accidentally sent the wrong helicopter, and they offered to send me the correct one. Not only that, but they told me to keep the wrong one they sent for the inconvenience of the situation. They did this without me even asking – that’s customer service! I greatly appreciate this kind of service and would recommend buying product from them. I’ll add a review of the product itself once received.
Product Update on 1/13/09: I’ve had this little guy for a few weeks now, and I have to say that it is quite a little flier. It took a little getting used to the controls (being that I’m a heli novice), but once I got it down, I was really able to control this very well.
There is one piece of advice I would give to someone purchasing this: The top rotor has a couple of plastic teeth that engage it with the balance bar underneath it. After a couple of crashes, it is very likely that one or both of the teeth will break and the top rotor will twist on the shaft due to the spinning torque. This will cause the copter to be relatively uncontrollable. I would suggest putting a light bead of super glue around these teeth to help prevent breakage. I did this after the fact, and the thing actually flies better than it did out of the box. It helped stablilize the top rotor and made it a very stable heli to fly. I am normally seeing uninterrupted flying times of 7 minutes on a full 20-30 minute charge. I highly recommend this little heli for a lot of in-house fun. (It also makes a great toy to tease the cat)!
